Like "Women Of Faith", "Hillsong", and other worship groups known and unknown nationwide, an idea has been presented that a group of worship singers locally (preferably Auckland) should be set up. [BIBLE STUDY]

1 & 2 KINGS THEME: OBEDIENCE TO GOD
Bible Passage: 1 Kings 12 & 13
Key verses: 12:24; 13:18-22

Chapter 12 vs. 24- "Thus says the Lord, 'You shall not go up nor fight against your brethen the children of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me'. Therefore they obeyed the word of the Lord, and turned back, according to the word of the Lord."

Chapter 12 Discussion:
The fact that Jeroboam was in control didn't make them disobey God. They might have feared Jeroboam but they still turned back as God said.

Lesson to derive:
No matter what (danger/fear/hinderance) lies in your way, always do God's will, obey God's commandments, for Him alone is God and He is our deliverer. So there is simply NO REASON TO FEAR!

Chapter 13 vs. 18 - "He said to him, 'I too am a prophet as you are and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord saying, Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water". [Here we know he's lying.]vs. 19 - "So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water."vs. 21 - "and he cried out to the man of God saying, "Thus says the Lord, 'Because you have disobeyed the word of the Lord, and have not kept the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you...vs 22...but you came back, ate bread, and drank water in the place of which the Lord said to you, 'Eat no bread and drink no water', your corpse shall not come to the tomb of your fathers."

Lesson to derive: (from this short text)
The man God sent fell into temptation. He did not confirm with God if He really told the "old prophet" to back to dine with him. This teaches us to always seek the face of God in every situation and with every decision we make, so as to identify with the wrong and right ways.

Personal Prayer: Help me Lord not to fall into temptation.
